Reward and Recognition

Hi! I am looking for examples of a reward and recognition process or policy for a small non profit org, does anyone have ideas that they can share?

Our organisation has 24 core staff members that are based in various countries.

Hi Sam - while we don’t have a formal process document I can share, I am happy to share a few things we do in this area. We are a small nonprofit based in the US, with 15 staff spread across 12 states - fully remote with very small budget.

  • during onboarding, we have new hires fill out a ‘gift preferences’ survey so we know the types of things they would like to receive
  • we send a survey quarterly for staff to recognize colleagues that have gone above and beyond that quarter and select an ‘employee of the quarter’ based off of their feedback. Employees of the quarter are recognized during the all staff meeting and receive a gift
  • while we send around digital birthday cards for all birthday, we send formal gifts for an employee’s work anniversary
  • At every staff meeting, we set aside time for everyone to share shoutouts or work-wins
