I'm looking for a protest leave policy

I’m looking for a protest leave policy which allows individuals to take time off to attend protests without using their annual leave.

I’m sure there was one on in the RadHR library before but it seems to have been removed.

Hi @TeddyHall -
Unfortunately we’d just had notification from the org that had shared that policy this week, that they are updating it and asked that it be taken down til the new version is signed-off. So we have taken it down.

But here is a similar one - it’s a brief paragraph, but does something very similar: Direct action leave | RadHR Policy Library

Hi Teddy! Just to say we allow our staff to use volunteering leave for protests, although I do wonder if they attend a protest that the Charity Commission takes issue with if that could come back on us!

How funny, I was just sharing this policy with my team! We’re a community org, so weekday protests are typically covered under work time, but we’ve had staff that need to take time off work for legal proceedings after engaging in direct action, so I’m trying to build some formal guidelines and supports for those situations. All this to say that, the RadHR direct action leave policy rocks :sign_of_the_horns:

Ah - glad you found it! I know that Tipping Point UK has put some work into a related policy as well, tho it’s not in the library here. Can message someone there about it, as I think the person who was in the forum is on parental leave.

Also to clarify the Direct Action Leave policy is from the Poetry Translation Centre, rather than from RadHR directly
