I’m looking for (ideas of (a/n)) Data and Events Policy which incorporates climate justice through clean air.
My group focuses on the disproportionate impact of air pollution on Black, Brown and working class communities in the UK and our aim is to ensure that there is sufficient action to protect these groups of people in UK Clean Air Law We have a flat structure. We have 4 active members of staff, and we collaborate with other organisations when needed. Our members/staff are comprised of two co-directors, a communications director, and a local groups coordinator Our annual turnover is £60k thanks to funding !!
Our fiscal hosts need this documentation, but I want to make sure that I have a solid foundation before submitting it to them

Hi @beaubeans - thanks for posting this. It overlaps with another conversation we’ve been having at RadHR around bringing disability justice framing to event policies - which maybe includes another angle on ‘clean air’, as far as making events accessible to those who are immunocompromised or disabled and thus need to be confident they are going into spaces that will take ventilation and masks seriously.
I’d be really interested in hearing if there are folks who are thinking about both of these, as it feels like an important area of overlap when thinking about making events truly accessible, across a range of identities and life experiences, given long-COVID rates in predominantly PoC and working class communities.
If anyone is interested in having some discussions around this, definitely send a reply here and we can see if it might be possible to get a meeting together with a few of us?
Hi @beaubeans and @liam I’m Health Justice Researcher at Healing Justice Ldn, and we have a Covid policy for staff and events and we want to continue to develop these. It would be really great to discuss this - and definitely about the overlaps with climate justice and how we respond to our changing conditions.

Thanks so much for sharing this report, @stephanied! It’s heavy reading, but so important to have out there, given how easy it can be for some of us to hide from the ongoing realities of the pandemic.
If you’ve got the HJL policy and are able to upload it to the RadHR Library, we will definitely use our wider comms channels to point people towards it, as there is not currently anything like that in the library.
And yes, if there are other groups that would like to talk about how to organise events in ways that acknowledge and work to address who can and can’t attend, we would be happy to help arrange a call.

Great! Thanks! Hopefully the discussion at the Lunch Meet today can be a good start and we can see if there are any clear ideas coming out of it to go further/deeper.
