Anti-racism policy - pro-Black, etc

Hi all!

I’m looking for an anti-racism policy that incorporates intersectional thinking - including but not limited to Queer Theory, Black feminisms, structural inequality, classism, disability justice etc etc

I am a POC, newly appointed director of a majority-white LGBTQIA+ CIC focusing on tackling social isolation. We run residential trips every year and are founded and run by our community members.

We need a robust anti-racism policy - I have started one, but I am surprised to see no specific examples here. Maybe I will make one and share if it does not exist yet

We had an incident last year, which we know we did not handle well. We want to do better!

Any pointers/examples welcome, thank you!

Heya,

How are you? Sorry for belated response - I know this was a little while ago! - but keen to hear how you got on with this? If you did develop something and are up for sharing I’d love to read

I also wondered whether Ort Gallery might have some good resources around this as I know they’ve thought really deeply about equitable / anti-racist practice in their Warmth work.

Take care

I think this has real value but I also think it’s valuable to have guidance written that interacts with all other policies from an anti-racist standing, so it’s weaved through everything you do. Intrigued what others think about having a specific policy

Liam has put up an interesting post on here called something like ‘policies that ground our principles in the practicalities of work’ incase that’s interesting
