RadHR London meet-up #3

Following our first two in-person event in June and September, we are coming together again to meet other Londoners who are exploring how to do the ‘internal’ work of being an organisation that is trying to live more radical, caring and liberatory values.

We are imagining something low-key, involving teas and snacks, but with a little bit more structure than the first two events. If you’d like to suggest a topic, you can add it when you register.

We’ll also be looking for volunteers to help with ongoing organising of future meet-ups like this one.

We will once again be meeting at The Albany in Deptford, who have kindly offered the space. As it is after their usual opening hours, we’ll just need to ring the buzzer to get in on the day.

There are limited spaces, as this is an IRL event, so please book a free ticket now if you’re planning to attend.

belatedly sharing some themes from this meetup! Felt like a useful conversation with people sharing questions and examples from their work, 4 main topics we spoke about were

  • the q of creating a ‘baseline’ for what radical policies look like in a team, and the ongoing work of evolving them
  • different approaches to pay, how to centre a team’s values and practice solidarity within pay structures
  • a little bit on self-management and accountability - related to that how to keep agreed ways of working / policies really accessible and ‘live’ for people. the need for simple guidance and reminders, not expecting people to regularly read and remember loads of detailed policies!
  • a bit on conflict and how much trust and wider culture factor into how conflicts play out / can be managed
