Banking for unincorporated groups

Just wanted to do a shout-out to the fiscal hosting service offered by The Social Change Nest, which holds grant (or other) income for community and activist groups that either can’t get a bank account, or have chosen not to, for security or privacy reasons.

Not specifically a policy or process, but an important resource that will hopefully make the lives of some folks in the RadHR Community a bit easier!

Thanks Liam. Also wanted to share a similar service we use as our fiscal hosting platform called Climate 2025. They provide fiscal hosting, payroll, fundraising support and more, and we’ve recently connected them with several smaller orgs or informal grassroots groups and networks that needed their funds hosting. https://www.climate2025.org/

Tipping Point also does host some regrants/small funds for grassroots groups itself, so i can share how we did / do that as well with anyone interested in this area.

Thanks for sharing Louise! That’s super helpful information. Wonder if it would be good to have a little online event for groups doing or interested in this stuff to chat about it a bit. If anyone’s interested in this, can you respond here? (just by saying ‘yes’ or with an emoji)

Just to follow-up, here’s a slide deck with a few more details about the Social Change Nest, in terms of who can use them, what they can do and their costs.
