Shivneel_Reddy

Hello and Bonjour,
my name is Shivy I’m 26 years old and born on Stó:lō land (Abbotsford) and raised on the unceded lands of the Tsawwassen, Katzie, Semiahmoo, Kwantlen, and other Coast Salish Peoples (North Delta and Surrey). My parents and grandparents were born and raised in Fiji and migrated to Kanata, Turtle Island (Canada). Where they saw for a better life away from limitations and political challenges. With ancestry from South India and the indentured workers I work towards breaking barriers for my local community and advocating for institutional change and economic solidarity in my work as a Community and Human Resource Manager at a coop incubation non-profit (Solid State Community Industries), I also work as a Child and Youth Care Worker for a local school district, Program and Youth Services Director for a South Asian Peer Support Non-profit, and Co-founded a community coop bridging the gaps between queer communities in local cities. My work drives my passion as my passion drives my work, however, I also love to find time for my now 4 year old Malshi who always keeps me on my toes. Time to time you can see me singing my heart out at karaoke.
It will be my please getting to learn alongside you all and hope to build more connection in this field towards creating more solidarity in a world that needs it most!
